2017 – Brown and Caldwell – City of Phoenix CIPP-Lined Manhole Rehabilitation (2017-18)

YPMO provided PIO services to Brown and Caldwell for the City of Phoenix Water Services Department CIPP-Lined Concrete Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Program. After conducting a condition assessment of its cured-in-place plastic-lined (CIPP) concrete interceptor sewer system, the engineer identified pipe segments and manhole structures that required rehabilitation throughout Phoenix.

Hunter Contracting Co. was awarded the $1.2M construction contract to rehabilitate 122 manhole structures throughout Phoenix. YPMO prepared 17 construction notices for the various groupings of manholes for distribution to area residences, schools, and businesses. Construction activities included traffic control around manholes and setting up sewer bypass systems to perform the work.

In 2024, YPMO is once again teamed with Brown and Caldwell providing PIO services for the current City of Phoenix condition assessment of approximately 6.6 miles of 16- to 60-inch CIPP-Lined sewer pipe and 209 manholes structures. In addition, this program will also assess another 35.7 miles of additional sewer pipe and 709 manholes throughout Phoenix.

We are grateful for the opportunity to play a small role on these large City programs to keep the public informed and the team unfettered to perform their work and quickly move to the next location during construction.
