2016 – Dibble – City of Phoenix Water Services Department Water Main Repair

YPMO provided PIO services to Dibble on their City of Phoenix Water Services Department Emergency Large Diameter Water Main Repair On-Call contract. One memorable repair happened in December, just prior to the Christmas holiday, when a water main broke in Camelback Road just west of the intersection of 32nd Street in the heart of the Camelback business district. Camelback Road was reduced to one eastbound lane with several left turn restrictions for several weeks.

This dense area is dotted with high rises and office parks with hundreds of businesses, so effective in-person outreach was needed to ensure the public remained informed. Anne Thompson quickly recorded a hotline message about the construction schedule and traffic restrictions. She then distributed a business card to provide building managers with construction information and directed them to call and listen to the hotline message for updates.

In 2022, YPMO teamed with WaCo Contracting to continue providing PIO services for the City’s JOC for Large Diameter Water Main and Valve Repairs. We have continued to quickly respond, prepare construction notices, and communicate face to face with businesses and residents within a short time period.
