2010 – Dibble Engineering – UV Light Cure Case Study Video

Dibble Engineering selected YPMO to provide PIO services for the City of Scottsdale Water Operations Department’s sanitary sewer collection system improvement project. Four communities in Scottsdale had small diameter sewer mains rehabilitated through this program. The sewer mains were located in easements behind homes. Achen-Gardner Construction, LLC was the City’s contractor, they utilized the UV-Light Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP), installing structural liners inside the host pipe via manholes.

YPMO prepared the project notice, community open house invitation (held at a local community center in April 2010), and water restriction door hangers. Anne Thompson communicated with residents and coordinated with the project team throughout construction. This work called for close coordination and cooperation of the property owners/occupants to access the backyard easements and restrict their water use. Equipment was hand carried into backyard easements to manholes, which for some, were located next to their swimming pools.

YPMO worked with both Dibble Engineering and Achen-Gardner Construction in 2009 to produce a video of this work. The video played as a presentation at the community open house, allowing the public to see the process being used to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer without the need for excavation.
