RESIDENTIAL MILL AND OVERLAY STREET TRANSPORTATION
MILL AND OVERLAY | PAVING | FULL DEPTH REPAIR | CONCRETE BASE
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The City of Phoenix T2050 Program doubles the funding for street overlays and new pavement and benefits every street in Phoenix. With T2050, the annual number of street miles that receive pavement upkeep has significantly increased from 130 to more than 300.
“A major challenge is coordinating with businesses, community property managers and residents to ensure temporary traffic and street restrictions are followed during the construction period, and that concerns are being addressed,” said Project Manager Angela Garcia
As part of this $1 billion-plus street-maintenance program, every street across the city will receive a pavement maintenance treatment approximately every ten years.
“Many other street projects are temporary fixes and repairs, but the mill and overlay work will provide a lasting surface that won’t need to be serviced for several years to come,” said Garcia.

THE CHALLENGE
“Making sure residents had their vehicles relocated, because when they didn’t, the cars would be towed, or if they didn’t follow the rules to stay off the street until cones were removed, Sunland would have to touch up the road in those spots.”
