CITY OF PHOENIX STREET TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT PUBLIC OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT SERVICES - ROESER ROAD, 32ND STREET – 37TH STREET IMPROVEMENTS STREET TRANSPORTATION
ON-CALL | STREET IMPROVEMENT | NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT | WATERLINE| PIO
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project was arterial street improvement project to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility on Roeser Road, between 32nd Street and 37th Street. Work included the widening of Roeser Road, as well as new paving, curb and gutter, business driveways and sidewalks, signing and striping, bus pads, and streetlighting. In areas where the street has already been improved, sidewalks and driveways will be upgraded as necessary to meet the city of Phoenix standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
YPMO provided Construction Phase PIO services. We worked closely with the contractor and conducted outreach to notify area residents and businesses about traffic restriction changes to businesses, transit, parks department, and emergency services, along with driveway access restrictions, waterline relocation water shut offs, night work, and five temporary area street closures. The original construction duration was May through November 2021, however utility issues and road stabilization issues along the south side of Roeser Road extended work through December.
