PROJECT OVERVIEW
From 2021 to 2022, Hunter Contracting installed approximately 5,000 feet of new relief sewer pipe and 25 manholes in 52nd St. and Van Buren St. to Galvin Pkwy. Work also included improvements to the storm drain and relocation of a waterline.
YPMO provided public outreach services to the community over 16 months, including an initial construction notice and seven updates. YPMO coordinated with the Phoenix Zoo, ASU, Tempe Street Department, transit, and the immediate community for a series of planned intersection closures at Van Buren St. and Galvin Pkwy.
This project won the ASCE 2024 Project of the Year (Under $10M) Award.
