In 2011, YPMO took on a pro-bono assignment with the Sunnyslope Historical Society to produce a book about the history of “S” Mountain in the Sunnyslope neighborhood of north Phoenix. At the time, Anne Thompson had been involved in several local projects and was happy to have a creative project during the early years of starting her business. The book was printed in both hard cover and soft cover and sold at the Sunnyslope Historical Society. The book is still sold there today.

In October 2011, an event was held at the foot of “S” Mountain at Sunnyslope’s 100 year anniversary and to honor the men who first plotted the grid and painted the “S” in 1954. Anne met with the five men at a local Sunnyslope restaurant to get their story and take photos of them together in the restaurant and in front of “S” Mountain. The mountain is re-painted white every fall by the incoming Freshman class at Sunnyslope High School. The community takes great pride in both the history of Sunnyslope and its historic homes from a bygone era.
