PROJECT OVERVIEW
The City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department and its contractor, AJP Electric, performed signal upgrades at the intersections of 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, 43rd Avenue and Glendale Avenue, and 43rd Avenue and Northern Avenue to improve the safety and accessibility of those traveling in the area.
Work included modifying and updating the existing traffic signals, bus bay approaches and bus bay shelter areas, and updating the crosswalk ramps to meet the newest City of Phoenix standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
YPMO prepared three initial construction notices that were mailed to residents and hand delivered to nearby businesses for each intersection. Night work door hangers were prepared and hand delivered as needed throughout the project.
In November 2023, YPMO prepared three construction update notices which were distrbuted to the public.
This project began in January 2023 and was initially scheduled to conclude in October 2023 however due to delays, construction continued through February 2024.
